I have a pillow give-away today!
And 100% of the proceeds will go to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network.
Woo hoo!
For those of you who know me, you know that my son Petie Pie has life threatening food allergies. He's allergic to peanuts, milk (dairy), eggs, and shellfish.
My sweet boy is now 20 years old and I'm so proud of him and how he manages his life situation.
Anywho, the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network was a great support to us in his early years, while we tried to navigate this '21st century disability'*.
So, here are the deets on how to enter my giveaway:
Do one of the following:
'Like' me on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/PillowLovebyLekalia
"Follow me" with Google Friend Connect -- just click on the 'Join This Site' icon on the right side of my blog.
"Subscribe" to my little blog-a-roonie (also noted on the right side of my blog)
Or, if you are already a liker, follower or subscriber, just leave a "comment" in the comment section!
ENTRIES CLOSE ON JANUARY 29TH AT 12 P.M. PACIFIC TIME.
If you are the high-falootin' winner, please select your 'pillow for peanuts' from the following selection from my etsy shop:
This pretty pink number.
This one (and it's one of my faves!)
Or a little Chiang Mai from Schumacher!
I think I'll put all the entries in a big fat pot and let Petie Pie pick the winner for me.
Here's a pic of me and Petie at his high school graduation.
Petie wrote his college essay about his food allergies. It still makes me cry to read it.
Here it is if you are interested:
Life is precious! Enjoy!
*I call this a '21st century disability' because it's a disability that affects other people -- not just the disabled person ----- i.e., asking 'other' people to not eat peanuts on airplanes, etc.

Good Morning! I love your pillows and would enjoy winning! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower via e-mail updates through your blog. Love the proceeds association, as my 10-year old son has food allergies also! You are right about it affecting everyone around the allergic person, and it's also about learning how to cook and prepare meals for the affected person, too, which can be a labor of love to be sure! Hope I win that Bengal Bazaar pillow! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLeslie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Peter's college essay. Wow, what an amazing journey you have all been on and you are right - his challenges have really made him who he is today. It's a great lesson of looking fear in the face and overcoming it! Cheers to Peter and you. (loved the Halloween trick or treat story - what a great mom.) ps. I'm loving the pink pillow for Fiona's room!
